Schools Competition

For all competitions, copies of the music must be given to the adjudicator’s assistant before the competition starts. Bands/Groups are required to provide their own music stands.

SCHOOL BANDS / ORCHESTRAS
Competitors should present a 10 minute programme of music suitable to the age and ability of the performers. Music may be traditional or other genre or a mixture.

SCHOOL CHOIRS
Competitors are required to perform two contrasting pieces. The maximum duration for the performance is 10 Minutes. Performances may be accompanied or unaccompanied. If performances are accompanied, the competitors must provide their own accompaniment.

GROUP MUSIC – INSTRUMENTAL
Groups should consist of a maximum of 10 performers. Students may use any combination of instruments. Competitors to perform a mixed programme.

GROUP MUSIC – SINGING
Groups should consist of a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 10 performers. Competitors should sing 2 contrasting songs. Unison or part songs are acceptable. Part songs may be 2, 3, or 4 part. Performers may sing with or without accompaniment.
